GOP has 1,200+ page Oppo. Dossier on HRC... Whose Vetted?

Thu May 08, 2008 at 03:37:02 PM PDT

How does this NOT Surprise me...

Two Republican officials at the Republican National Committee who are involved in "opposition research efforts" in preparation for the general election say the RNC's oppo research dossier on Sen. Clinton runs more than 1,200 pages in length.

According to these officials, the book includes "previously undisclosed information about Hillary Clinton's connections to the Whitewater scandal, travel office firings, and Democratic fundraising efforts." Given that the book has not been shared with us, we've been unable to confirm this assertion. Furthermore, the Republican officials would not describe the nature of the "new information."

Any wonder then that yesterday both Karl Rove and Rush Limbaugh claimed to endorse Obama because "Hillary would do better against John McCain"... Yeah, and we're winning the war on Terra... Fat chance.

Superdelegate #5 for Obama - Texan John Patrick

Thu May 01, 2008 at 09:15:55 AM PDT

This brings today's Count to 5 five FIVE

TX DNC Member John Patrick, a member of the United Steelworkers (USW) as well as a veep of the TX AFL/CIO, endorsed Barack Obama today.

"Senator Barack Obama has spent a lifetime standing up for American workers, and he will be a crucial voice for us in the White House," Patrick said in a statement released by Obama's campaign. "Senator Obama chose a career as an organizer on the streets of Chicago, fighting for working families who lost their jobs, specifically those families in neighborhoods devastated by steel plant closings. He has consistently opposed unfair trade deals that fail to offer protection to American workers - like NAFTA. Senator Obama has a real plan to put money back in the pockets of working families by restoring the manufacturing base in America."

Will the flood gates open soon? I think Joe Andrew's letter is a game changer.

AP Report slams Clinton's Commute and Stagecraft Pandering

Wed Apr 30, 2008 at 12:52:27 PM PDT

Panda Bear Alert

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Hillary Rodham Clinton, a former first lady who hasn't driven a car or pumped gas in many years because of Secret Service restrictions, joined a blue-collar worker at a filling station Wednesday to illustrate how the high price of gasoline is squeezing consumers.

The Democratic presidential candidate and sheet metal worker Jason Wilfing, 33, pulled into the station in a large white Ford 250 pickup truck, Clinton riding shotgun. Never mind that it wasn't even Wilfing's truck — he had borrowed his boss's larger vehicle to accommodate Clinton's security agent and personal assistant, who rode in the back.

The Bullshit Meter is in Overdrive...

Rev Wright was Invited to Nat'l Press Club by Hillary Supporter

Mon Apr 28, 2008 at 09:28:43 PM PDT

Reverend Wright needs to be removed from the American Media.  He has been played like a fiddle Corporate Media, Establishment and now, Clinton Campaign.

Wright was invited to the National Press Club by a journalist and minister who supports Clinton.

The Tribune reports that Wright was invited by Barbara Reynolds, a former USA Today editorial board member who has written on personal blog of her support for Clinton.

Her agenda here seems to have been the same as Wright's: To protect the minister's reputation from, among others, Obama.

Barack Obama MUST Step Over Wright by simply saying:

I no longer recognize the man who has taken to the media created platform.  He clearly has a Personal Agenda which I Disavow and Repudiate.

BREAKING: Pentagon Suspends TV Generals Propaganda Program

Mon Apr 28, 2008 at 01:26:01 PM PDT

This is great news.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Pentagon has suspended a program that fed information about the Iraq war to retired military officers who appeared on U.S. television networks as independent analysts, the Defense Department said on Monday.

The program, uncovered last week in a New York Times investigation, was criticized by Democrats for providing private briefings, trips and access to classified intelligence to influence analysts' comments about Iraq and portray the situation as positive even as violence rose in the war zone.

Sen. Carl Levin, the Michigan Democrat who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee, also said some of the analysts appeared to be working for defense contractors, raising a potential conflict of interest.

McCain's Campaign Flew Cindy's Jet Exploiting a Loophole

Sat Apr 26, 2008 at 08:57:55 PM PDT

Cindy McCain has a Private Jet?  That's exactly the question this story should raise nationally...  The next question should be, When will we see Cindy's Tax Returns?

over a seven-month period beginning last summer, Mr. McCain’s cash-short campaign gave itself an advantage by using a corporate jet owned by a company headed by his wife, Cindy McCain, according to public records. For five of those months, the plane was used almost exclusively for campaign-related purposes, those records show.

Mr. McCain’s campaign paid a total of $241,149 for the use of that plane from last August through February, records show. That amount is approximately the cost of chartering a similar jet for a month or two, according to industry estimates.

This definitely breaks with the Media Narrative of John Do No Wrong McCain.  Dare we dream they have a backbone again? The NY Times is getting it's teeth again.

Hillary's Lies about Weather Underground Pardons Exposed

Thu Apr 24, 2008 at 10:45:40 AM PDT

Hillary went on record yesterday with this Tuzla Sniper Size Whopper

The question then is... What Evidence is that this is in fact true?  I haven't found any, but Newsday certainly goes through a list of facts that indicate Hillary Had to Have Know.

The Reason White Women will Vote Against John McCain

Wed Apr 23, 2008 at 11:21:31 AM PDT

Hillary is hanging on primarily because she performs strongly with her core base, which is plainly larger than Obama's core base, in states like Ohio and Pennsylvania. White Women were 47% of the Vote last night, and while Obama did marginally better in this group, it's likely also this group which claims in surveys and exit polls that they'll either stay home or vote McCain in November is Hillary is not in the race.  They resent the fact that the Woman many be losing, no doubt.  However, they'll vote, oh yes, they will definitely vote... here's why.

Meet Carol McCain.  The Woman John McCain left for Dead through Divorce to marry a younger, richer, more beautiful woman named Cindy.  This little story will help White Women to absorb the defeat and remind them why John McCain is simply detestable.

LA Times Breaking: New wave of Obama SuperDs Lined Up

Tue Apr 22, 2008 at 06:59:20 AM PDT

The Drip Drip Drip is about to become a bit of a flood...

Obama strategists said Monday that they expected to announce a series of additional endorsements by uncommitted superdelegates shortly after Pennsylvania votes. A strong showing by Obama in Pennsylvania would give superdelegates more comfort in coming forward, but a bad loss might send them back to the assessment stage.

It's helpful to understand then what a strong showing entails.  To put it shortly, as I've seen it in LA Time and by Chuck Todd, these are the final CW Goalposts:

Hillary's "I'm one of you" in Scranton Racially Loaded Bombshell

Mon Apr 21, 2008 at 10:02:25 AM PDT

What does this conjure up upon first reading:

I understand you, because I'm one of you.

Camp Hillary really went all out this morning, effectively playing a heavy handed double-entendre bombshell...   In a race dominated by discussion of the need for Obama to win over White Working Class Voters, in a State Rendell is on record for saying that it may not be ready to vote for a Black Man, to go there at this late hour is at the least insensitive.

"I'm one of you"  is simply a step too far...  And the Context makes it all the worse.

Broke? NYT Sunday: Clinton "Cash Crunch, Maxed-Out, Tired"

Sat Apr 19, 2008 at 11:33:04 AM PDT

That pesky filing deadline is tomorrow and sure enough, we can read the tea leaves and see it'll be very bad news for Hillary Clinton.  According to Drudge, he has the following lead

NYT SUNDAY: CLINTON CASH CRUNCH; DONORS MAXED OUT, TIRED... DEVELOPING...

This doesn't instill confidence.  Neither does publicly whining about your own limited resources.

They said the race was narrowing, stressed that Obama was outspending the campaign 3-to-1 -- a common campaign line in recent days -- and said Pennsylvania was never going to be a blowout race.

The focus on being outspent by Obama was extreme and noticeable. The aides brought it up repeatedly during the 10-minute discussion.

Hillary's "Umbrella" Recklessly Leads To WAR with Iran

Fri Apr 18, 2008 at 06:48:29 AM PDT

In no Uncertain Terms, Hillary Clinton, during the ABC Debate, Laid out a Roadmap to Certain Nuclear War with Iran!

Keith Olberman covered this last night in a Segment on Countdown

From Liberty Youth who had a earlier diary on this:

What Clinton is proposing is a very ambitious and a major security and political shift in the Middle East. Essentially, she is proposing a AGTO (Arabian Gulf Treaty Organization). This is the New Cold War with Iran as the central enemy. I cannot believe that Iran would be willingly isolated in the way that Senator Clinton is proposing. Russia and China would more than likely be interested in offsetting the U.S. influence that this Gulf Alliance would create. If you think that the current atmosphere is tense the proposal that Clinton is advancing would be a step up.

Oh Shit George, it Won't Stop Ringing!!!

Well, Maybe not Raged, but, They did hear us.

It also triggered the most furious outrage I've seen from the huge, and growing, Obama activist base, which in this case merged with the liberal Netroots -- which aren't always on the same page -- to generate a volume of complaints about the first 45-minutes of questioning that are pretty impossible to miss.

Georgie even got Defensive...

Now, It's Time to Brush Ya' Shoulders Off and Make The Call That counts!!!

Many People have given to Barack's Campaign... 1,324,000 as of last count. Now Hillary Clinton is attacking Barack for accepting individual donations from people in the Energy Industry... GASP... watch this horrible new ad:

Thomas Frank "WTMW Kansas": People are bitter in small town

Mon Apr 14, 2008 at 10:20:06 AM PDT

Thomas Frank, author of What's the Matter with Kansas wades in to the controvery via Sam Stein whose quickly becoming a daily addiction.

Thomas Frank, the author who redefined the perception of the red state/blue state divide in America, says he doesn't find Sen. Barack Obama's comments on the bitterness of small-town Midwesterners all that alarming.

"People are bitter in small towns," Frank told the Huffington Post. "People are bitter everywhere. I don't know if you have seen the stock market -- people are bitter about their situation. It doesn't strike me as a very controversial statement."

I think the Clinton's have misjudged this controvery...
